Elements from Zest kit by Mandy King, Template by Dagi's Temp-tations
This photo was taken a few months ago. The little girls created a fort using some chairs and pillows and while playing, bumped their foreheads together. They stared at each other, surprised, for what seemed like a long time and I knew I had to do something because once one of them started bawling, the other is sure to follow suit. I grabbed a stamp set that was lying on the table and stamped each girl on her forehead and declared that a "No-Ouchie" zone. They looked at each other again and started laughing. Situation averted!

I used Mandy King's new kit, Zest, and a template from Dagi's Temp-tations new template set, Color Me Pretty - Set 5.

Embellished Flipflops

I got these embellished flipflops a couple of years ago for around $5 and only wore them for a few weeks before I totally forgot about them.

Since I quit my job last January, I've been doing some cleaning and during the process, I found these and started wearing them again. Andrea saw them and kept bugging me to put beads in her flipflops too so last weekend, I obliged.

I used one of her older flipflops.

They still fit but the design was already peeling off so I needed to fix that. Then I remember this old project by Agy of Green Issues about using old fabric to replace the lining on shoes. Hubby scraped off the remaining design on the flipflops using sandpaper. I traced the flipflops on some scrap canvas fabric and attached them to the flipflops using rugby contact cement.

For the beadwork, I used plastic beads and very thin jewelry wire. I also used the jewelry wire to attach the beadwork to the straps of the flipflops.

And here is my finished work.

Matching beaded flipflops.

Elements from Simply Timeless kit by Simple Girl Scraps
Last Valentine's Day, Andrea came home with a rose and a little bear. A little boy from school gave it to her. The concept was entirely new to her and she kept asking me why the flower was wrapped in plastic and what it was for.

Here's another layout:

Andrea's school is celebrating their 10th anniversary this year and they held a school fair 2 weeks ago to celebrate. Andrea and Helaena had fun at the different booths and they both came home with new pets (i.e. fish).

Bless this Mess by Mandy King

Last month, I received a notice from our local government that they will be conducting road repair on our street from mid-February to end of March. I had no idea the scope of that repair means digging up the entire street and tearing all the concrete off. Our master's bedroom is facing the street and all that digging turned our bedroom into a dust factory. Hence, we decided to move temporarily to the spare bedroom that we have been using as a storage room and my craft room.

Before we could move in... I had to make it habitable first. And boy, that was a process I wasn't looking forward to!

The photos were taken during the middle of all my cleaning so believe it or not, most of the mess has been put away.

I used a new kit made by Mandy King, Bless this Mess, that is a tribute to all things messy.

Cool huh? It's perfect for scrapping all the dirty little secrets you've been hiding (or not!).
