New Kit by Sunny Day Scraps: Toil-N-Trouble (with FREEBIE!)

If there is any occasion my daughter and my niece looks forward to, it's their birthdays AND Halloween.

Yes, they like Halloween better than they like Christmas for some reason. Maybe it's the Trick or Treat they love so much,

Anyway...

Halloween calls for Halloween kits! And Sunny Day Scraps released a new one which is perfect for all your cute Halloween photos! Cute photos calls for a cute kit, don't you think?

You can get this adorable kit at Berry Sweet Scraps. Click here to check it out!

Here are a couple of layouts I made with this kit:

And for your freebie!

Enjoy!

Leaving a Trail

Or stumbling all over the trail, it felt like.

Elements from Backwoods kit by Sunny Day Scraps, Template by Scrapping with Liz
These photos were from the mountain climb to get to the top of the mountain where the launch platform was located for my first zipline scare ride.

I used the kit Backwoods from Sunny Day Scraps for this layout.

This cute kit would have been perfect for camping photos but alas! I don't camp... I used to, like pre-digital camera era, but not anymore. I love the cute elements and subdued nature colors of this kit.

New kit by Sunny Day Scraps: School Zone

Check out this adorable school themed kit! It's perfect to scrap all of those precious pictures you have of that first day of school or any photo of school activities (of which my daughter has plenty).

This kit comes with 17 papers (300 dpi, JPEG) and 45 elements (300 dpi, PNG).

You can get this kit here:

Here are a couple of layouts I made with this kit:

She initially wanted a trolley bag for school so we got her one of that. But even the smallest trolley bag available was too big for what little she needs to bring to school but she loves it anyway.

And then, she realized that all her classmates have backpacks and lunch boxes and started asking mommy for a backpack and a lunch box *groan*. Why are they so fickle??? So backpack and lunch box it is... and her trolley bag has been designated as her luggage when we travel :)

I only did layouts for A and B and I know I should have made one for C to make it, you know... like A, B, C... but I still don't know what C should stand for that's school related. Let me think about this for a while...

Includes:
45 Elements
12 Papers

You can also get the kit, a set of stacked papers, and clusters in a bundle:

Available here:

And you can get the bundle here.

Here are a couple of pages I made with this kit:

This is Andrea and her cousin, Ate Sefia. Ate was telling Andrea a story one afternoon when we visited them last December.

This is Andrea's other cousin, Helaena. The photo was taken when we were in Baguio last summer. In spite of the sweltering heat in Manila at the time, the weather in Baguio was cold so we bought the girls furry animal hats to keep their heads and ears warm.

Beat the Summer Heat

Last summer (our summer here in Asia Pacific, I mean), we decided to upgrade Andrea's baby pool to a bigger one.

Elements from: Under the Sea kit and Under the Sea Add-on kit by Sunny Day Scraps; Template by: Silke
See how happy that made her?

I started noticing that Andrea always tries to lie down on her belly in her small baby pool and pretend she's swimming around February. Stretched out, she didn't fit in the old pool anymore so after a lot of measuring in our small "backyard" space, we got her one that's big enough and with room to grow. It's roomy enough to fit an adult sitting down too. I never got to try it, by Andrea and her nanny enjoyed cooling down in that pool during the hottest days of summer this year :)

Next year, she's going to swimming lessons.

New Kit by Sunny Day Scraps: Tropicana

Remember that last prize I sort of "won" for iNSD from Sunny Day Scraps? I say "sort of" because as part of Charly's CT, I already have access to her kits, and the contest was to suggest a motiff and theme for her next kit for a chance to win her entire store at Berry Sweet Scraps, and to get the kit based on the motiff and theme suggested after it was done.

This was the palette I suggested:

Source
And I suggested a Hula theme.

And Sunny Day Scraps delivered!

iNSD Part 5: More Prizes!! (Who would've thought???)

I thought my iNSD posts ended with my last post here. I was so ready to move on and wait another year for the next iNSD. However, I just got my best surprise last weekend when I logged in. Apparently, I won a couple more prizes from some games I joined over at Berry Sweet Scraps!!! :) The store owners, Lynne and Charly, each hosted a game where you get a chance to win their entire store. The game is to suggest a color palette and a theme for their next kit.

Here's the thing... I'm not much into CU items, because I'm not a designer and I'm a looooong way from being one, but I like the kits. I already bought my favorite kit from Baby Cakes Scraps (Lynne's store), Fairy Grace. And I am part of Charly's CT (Sunny Day Scraps), so I already have access to her kits (just the PU ones). But how cool is that that maybe... just maybe, there was a chance to get a kit based on a theme I want, right? So I joined anyway.

I didn't win Lynne's contest... but just for participating, I can choose any 4 items from her store!! I already said I bought my favorite kit from her store, but that doesn't mean there isn't anything I like. I spent all of yesterday afternoon poring over Baby Cakes Scraps store and picked these 4:

Evangeline by Baby Cakes Scraps
Forever More by Baby Cakes Scraps
I wanted a few kits in darker colors, because I already have TON of kits in pinks and pastels.

Goodnight Moon by Baby Cakes Scraps
I am a sucker for baby kits, what can I say? And my daughter loves the book, Goodnight Moon. I must have 3 or 4 kits called Goodnight Moon from several designers bookmarked or on my wish list :)

The last choice was tough because there were still around 3 kits I wanted, but I finally picked this:

It's a kiddie-kit... monsoon season just started in my country (LOTS of rain!)... and I don't have a lot of kits in this color scheme.

And now for the best part... my palette and theme got picked by Sunny Day Scraps!! Which means I won Sunny Day Scraps whole store!! (Or at least those kits/packs I want to get with the coupon she gave me).

iNSD ROCKS!!

Off to go shopping now :)

Me So Scrappy

Here are a couple of layouts I made with this kit.

Working on this kit was a little sad for me... because both me and my husband have both lost people we love and it's always sad when we think about them.

This little girl on the first layout is Leah. She is my husband's sister and she died when she was only 3 years old due to meningitis. Leah and our daughter Andrea share the same birth date, and I considered naming Andrea 'Leah Andrea' back then, but Leah's memories have always been hard on my husband so he said no.

This is my grandfather, and I have already mentioned several times how much I still miss him. He passed away in 2007.
