Look closer

I think I am beginning to like working with templates, especially if they are as interesting as this one:

Template by 3 Lil Monsters Designs
This template was provided as part of Scrappity-Doo-Dah's Template Challenge for May. The challenge is to make a layout using this template. We were allowed to move things around and add to it as long as we use the shapes provided in the template.

Ocean or beach themed kits are some of my favorites and I love this one! Here is a layout I made with this kit:

Fun times. This photo was taken at our company outing last year. Most of the people in this photo left the company already or will be soon. So few of us left... and the new blood are so, so young! Almost a decade younger than me. How's that to make you feel old every day??? Haha!

Sweet Baby Dreams

Here's another layout I made for Scrappity-Doo-Dah's Cardinal Mix-it-up Challenge for May.  The challenge is to look at the gallery of the person who posted immediately before you in the forum thread, and pick one of their layouts to scraplift.

I picked this layout from ThreeDogsAndABabyDesigns:

I already mentioned I'm a sucker for baby kits and baby layouts. Those cheeks were calling out to me to scraplift them!

A few days ago, I mentioned that I don't go for scraplift and template challenges much, but after having done both a few times, I think I'm beginning to get the hang of it. It's actually fun to do your take on someone else's layout idea, and it gives you some fresh inspiration too. I already saw a few layouts I love which I will try to scraplift in the future.
