Heart of a Friend

Andrea doesn't have a lot of playmates. Since she was born, the only other kid she sees on a regular basis is Helaena. A little before she turned 2 years old, I noticed that Andrea seems a little scared of other kids. In play areas we visit, she would cry when approached by another child. It's one of the reasons why I decided to enroll her in pre-school early.

Anyway, last December, we visited my husband's family in the province. There are a lot of nieces and nephews around Andrea's age there but as expected, Andrea didn't want to play.

she met cousin Gigi :) For some reason, she likes Gigi. Maybe because this little girl is so friendly and fun and didn't mind so much when Andrea stayed quiet the first few minutes when they first met each other.

Lamp Makeover

Before you proceed... let me warn you that this lamp makeover isn't your usual glamorous lamp makeover project you see on other blogs. I'm a little challenged for time so my projects tend to lean toward simplicity.

Inspiration: Mess in Andrea's room, specifically the old headband Andrea's nanny placed on top of the lampshade.

Yep I saw it like that and thought that hmmm... it sort of looks like a mushroom character so...

With the help of a glue gun and some googly eyes, this old plastic lamp life came to life!

I Feel Like... Snow White

New month, new challenges... in digital scrapbooking I mean. I am so open to a new month without any new challenges in other areas of my life to give me time to regain my composure but that is another story not entirely related to this blog post.

I always start with the Digidesignresort challenges because I like the incentive :) This month, this is the kit I am working towards:

 Rules remain the same, I need to complete the 6 Cocktail Hour Challenges namely: Theme, Color, Scraplift, Layout, Wordart, Photo to get this kit.

These were photos taken at school. The denim dress would have been too hot to wear here on a normal day but recently, the days here haven't really been normal. It's typhoon after typhoon so our weather is a little cooler than what we usually get.

Now the headband... I had no idea she was wearing it that day. It's part of the Snow White costume she inherited from cousin Helaena and her nanny made her wear it :) I wonder how she gets Andrea to wear a headband when I can't??? *sigh*
